Concrete, the surface riders prefer

Skateboarding began on the streets... on concrete.

Everyone agrees: concrete is the best surface out there to replicate the street sensation. Over the years, skate parks have been created to offer a safe place for skaters to get together and enjoy this exciting sport. Various materials have been tried: wood, steel, aluminum, synthetics, etc.

But NONE have been able to recreate the sensation of “The Street Under Your Feet”. With Domflex concrete by Solo Ramps, enthusiasts can now enjoy the original. That’s what they want, no more, no less.

Riders do not compromise; neither does Solo Ramps. We have created the next level of precast ramps: made from unique, patented molded concrete.

Incredible durability

The design and materials used in Solo ramps offer exceptional strength and durability.

The state-of-the-art Domflex concrete skating surface
Domflex concrete surpasses every standard for durability and long life. Designed especially for skate parks, Domflex is the strongest material available. It even gets stronger after going through freeze/thaw cycles. Its compression resistance of 65 Mpa (ASTM C109) is equal to 9400 psi.

Hot dipped galvanized steel is used throughout the Solo Ramps range:
boxes, grind rails, transition plates, adjustable support legs, guardrails, street elements... Hot dipped galvanization is a multistep process whereby steel components are thoroughly cleaned and then immersed in molten zinc (at about 420 degrees Celsius). This protects the metal against corrosion and oxidation

Edging
Domflex concrete is protected against chipping by galvanized steel edging

Ledges
All our ledges are made from the same high-performance concrete as our ramps and the edges are protected against chipping by galvanized angle bars. If two ledges are placed end to end, a mechanically anchored steel plate makes the transition between the two.

Super-solid, 100% recycled plastic   Tamperproof hardware
Some of our street elements are made of hot dipped galvanized steel and UltraPlast recycled plastic which will not warp, rot, rust, split or chip.   All our ramps are put together using tamperproof stainless steel hardware and theft-proof anchoring.

Maintenance-free

The materials that are used in building Solo ramps make the system virtually maintenance-free. No screws to replace, no panels that warp and need changing after a few years, no weekly inspections.

Concrete does not absorb heat like steel and synthetics. Nor does it get too slippery. Whatever Mother Nature throws at our ramps, they can take it and come out strong! Solo Ramps are built to take abuse. But, should vandalism take place, our equipment is easy to fix. Graffiti can be easily taken off with environmentally-friendly removers. This is something the competition cannot claim.

Designed for safety

The Solo Ramps Team has designed our system to be exceptionally safe.

Adjustable support legs:

It doesn’t matter if your skate park surface is not perfectly level; our support legs can be adjusted to compensate. This system also allows for easy adjustment after the spring thaw in northern climes.
Ramp weight:
Our ramps are too heavy to move without machinery. This gives the park that extra level of safety.
Ramp connectors:
The Solo Ramps system is designed so that adjacent ramps are connected solidly and will not work loose over the years.
Guardrails:

These rails are made of 2-inch diameter steel tubes with rounded corners and no sharp edges. For ramps over 3 ft. high, steel mesh surrounds the entire resting deck to prevent falls. The mesh goes right down to the surface of the deck so that loose skateboards cannot pass underneath.
Deck:

Compared to normal ramps, Solo Ramp decks are 4 ft. deep (on ramps four feet or higher).  This extra depth gives riders room to maneuver so they are not always bumping into each other.
Designed and approved by experts:
We can design your park with you. Our designs are approved by a team of professionals so that they meet and exceed the established standards of the sport.

Zone identification:
Panels displaying the park rules and identifying zones by level are available. These panels indicate whether a section of a skate park was designed for beginners, intermediates, or more advanced users. This increases both the level of fun and the level of safety.

Exceptional weight support:

The underside of our ramps is not closed, as their design makes this unnecessary. Domflex concrete ramps have a compression resistance of 65 MPa, or 9,400 psi, which means that they require no reinforcement, contrary to several other ramp models on the market. Closed sides are also an invitation for some users to hide underneath. With open sides, vandalism and hiding places are virtually eliminated. Open sides also provide a place to get some shade. There are numerous advantages for not enclosing the sides of our ramps. However, we can offer enclosed sides as an option.

Enclosure system (available in option)

The enclosure system is made of Domflex high resistance concrete. The lower edge of the capping is reinforced by a galvanized steel edging.

The quietest surface

Nothing more; nothing less.

Quick and simple installation

Because of its inherent design, its adjustable legs, and the experience of our installers, a safe installation can be carried out in a very short time.

Built by a reliable manufacturer

We have an independent laboratory carry out a daily analysis of our concrete to make sure that it meets and exceeds our strength requirements. Each ramp has its own serial number so we can track it throughout the manufacturing process and once it’s in use. Solo Ramps, a solid warranty We offer a 15-year limited warranty and our products are covered by liability insurance of $5 million.
